# How can I provide feedback on student posts?

SpacesEDU provides several ways to provide meaningful feedback on student posts directly from your Class Feed, whether through written comments, audio or video responses, annotations on PDFs, or quick reactions. This article walks you through each option.

###### Before You Start

* Feedback can be provided directly from the **Class Feed** using written comments, audio or video responses, PDF annotations, or quick reactions.
* Teachers control who has access to see, react to, and comment on student posts. For details on adjusting these permissions, see [How can I update Space settings?](https://help.spacesedu.com/en-ca/article/how-can-i-update-space-settings-kcqm73/).

###### Commenting on Posts

Once students add posts to a Class, you can provide feedback using the **Add Comment** field.

1. Locate the post in your **Class Feed**.
2. Click the **Add Comment** field below the post.
3. Choose your preferred feedback method:
    * **Text**: Type your feedback directly into the field.
    * **Audio**: Record a voice message.
    * **Video**: Record a video response.
    * **Attachments**: Upload links or files from your device storage or Google Drive.

###### Annotating PDFs

If a student attaches a PDF to their post, you can provide visual, in-context feedback using native annotation tools.

1. Click on the **PDF file** within the post.
2. Click **Annotate** at the top right of the document viewer.
3. Add drawings, highlights, or text notes to the document.
4. Click **Save**.

Because you are annotating a post that is already published, your drawings and notes do not change the original file. Instead, your annotated version is automatically added as an additional file inside a new comment on the post. For more details, see [How can I annotate documents in SpacesEDU?](https://help.spacesedu.com/en-ca/article/how-can-i-annotate-documents-in-spacesedu-1jj4tt2/).

###### Comment Threads

Once the first comment is added, you can reply to a specific comment to create a comment thread, or you can add a new standalone comment.

| 💡 Tip: When tapping a comment notification on a mobile device, you are taken to the original post first to provide better context, rather than dropping directly into an isolated threaded comment.

###### Auto-Draft Comments

Comments on posts save automatically so teachers, students, and families can pick up right where they left off at any time. Simply return to the post you were commenting on and your draft will be waiting for you.
