# How can I update my notification settings?

This article explains what notifications family members receive from SpacesEDU and how to manage your notification preferences on web and mobile.

###### What Notifications Will I Receive?

As a family member, you will receive notifications in the following situations:

| Event | Delivery method |
| ---- |
| You create your account | Email |
| A teacher invites you to sign up for a new class | Email |
| You request a password reset | Email |
| Your password has been successfully reset | Email |
| A linked student creates a new post | Email, In-App, Push Notification |
| You receive a new message | Email, In-App, Push Notification |
| A teacher adds a new post to a linked student's account or their entire class | Email, In-App, Push Notification |
| Anyone comments on a post in your linked student's account | Email, In-App, Push Notification |

###### How to Update Your Notification Preferences

**Web Browser**

1. Click the **bell** icon at the top right corner of your screen
2. Select the **gear** icon
3. Choose **In-App**, **Email**, or both for each notification type

**iOS and Android App**

1. Tap your **avatar** or **initials** at the top right
2. Select **Notifications** and tap the **gear** button
3. Enable or disable push notifications for each notification type
