# How do I update my student email address?

This article explains how to update the email address on your SpacesEDU student account, including additional steps for students who log in using Single Sign-On (SSO).

###### Before You Start

* You will need access to your current SpacesEDU account to make this change.
* If you log in using your school account credentials (Single Sign-On), there are additional steps after updating your email. See the SSO section below.

###### Updating Your Email Address

1. Log in to your SpacesEDU account
2. Click your **initials or avatar** at the top right and select **Account Settings**
3. Remove your existing email address. Two empty fields will appear for you to enter and confirm your new email address.

4. Enter your new email address in both fields and click **Save Changes**
5. Log out of your SpacesEDU account

###### Additional Steps for Single Sign-On (SSO) Students

If your school uses Single Sign-On, after logging out you will need to set a password for your new personal email address before you can log back in. Follow these steps:

1. On the login screen, enter your new personal email address and click **Log In**

2. Click **Forgot Password**

3. Check your personal email inbox for a message from SpacesEDU ([noreply@ca.spacesedu.com](mailto:noreply@ca.spacesedu.com)). Click the link and follow the instructions to set a new password.
4. Log in with your new email address and new password
