July 2026 Product Updates

We’ve got some very exciting updates with July’s Release. Multi-Term Reporting Spaces provides a longitudinal view of student progress, with reporting history that carries across terms. The structure is designed to reflect reporting periods over the course of the school year, making it easier to understand growth from one term to the next.

This release also includes smaller updates that streamline common interactions in SpacesEDU. Whether teachers are new to SpacesEDU or are power-users, this is definitely a refresh worth celebrating.

Let’s get into it!

Multi-Term Reporting Spaces

This feature is available to schools and districts licensing SpacesEDU Pro + Reporting Add-On

Until now, teachers have had one Reporting Space to work with. One term, one view. Multi-Term Reporting Spaces give districts a way to structure reporting across multiple terms, while helping teachers keep a continuous record of student progress, making end-of-term reporting a whole lot simpler.

Districts can now configure multiple reporting terms within a single Reporting Space, removing significant administrative tasks at the beginning of a reporting period, while saving student growth and progress from the previous term.

Here's what changed:

  • Multi-term structure for teachers: Teachers can move between terms within a single Reporting Space. Each term has its own active period, so reporting history stays intact rather than getting overwritten at the end of every cycle. Please note: Teachers cannot edit or make changes to previous terms once a new term has been activated, but administrators can apply changes on behalf of teachers.
  • Copy content across terms: Starting a new term doesn't mean starting from scratch. Teachers can choose to carry content over from a previous term, selecting what to copy and which students to apply it to.
  • Feed bookmarking with term indicators: When teachers bookmark post content for their Reporting Space, they'll see whether that content appears in a previous term and which term it appears in. Useful for avoiding duplication and keeping track of what's already been captured.
  • Admin term management: Administrators will have a dedicated Reporting Spaces section in their Admin Account, which includes settings to activate when a new term goes live. The formal admin review toggle will be moved here for ease of access.

Updates that streamline common interactions

SpacesEDU does a lot.

That's the point, but it also means there's a lot to navigate when you're new to SpacesEDU and using the product for the first time. The updates below help simplify common interactions without changing the depth of what the platform can do. They’re designed to make it easier for teachers to build their online learning environment with ease and confidence.

Group Spaces toggle

By default, Group Spaces will be disabled for all new Classes. This means teachers creating a 1:1 Space will be taken straight into the 1:1 Space creation workflow, reducing extra steps during setup. Group Spaces are still available for teachers who want to use them. They can be enabled from Class Settings, which adds Group Space creation back into the regular Space creation workflow.

Clearer empty states

The Spaces page now includes clearer empty states to help teachers understand what they’re looking at and how to get started. This includes clearer copy that explains the difference between 1:1 Spaces and Group Spaces.

Account type labels

Account avatars now display a role label: teacher, student, family, or admin. This is especially helpful for teachers who like to compare how something appears in their students account vs. their teacher account, or when participating in a getting started training session.

Family visibility option in Space settings

Teachers now have an "Active" option for families in Space visibility settings, the same way they do for students. When Active is enabled, family members can comment on Posts. This brings both sides of the visibility settings panel into alignment on all Space cards.

SpacesEDU logo update

The SpacesEDU logo now includes a reference to myBlueprint. This small change helps those who are more familiar with myBlueprint-branded products, like Education Planner, better recognize the connection between the two platforms.

Additional Updates

  • Block post/save button during attachment uploads (Android and Apple Apps)
    • The post and save button is now disabled while attachments are still uploading on mobile, preventing incomplete submissions.
  • Email retained when switching between login and signup
    • Switching between the login and signup screens no longer clears the email field, reducing friction when navigating between the two screens.
