# What is a Proficiency Report?

# The Proficiency Report

SpacesEDU Pro licensed schools and districts can access a dedicated **Proficiency Report**. Teachers can find this report on the right side of the **Class Feed**.

In the proficiency report table, teachers can see each curriculum tag that has been applied to posts in the feed, and the proficiency levels assigned for each student, making interim and year-end reporting easier than ever.

No more jumping between paper documentation or custom spreadsheets that you’ve created - everything can live in SpacesEDU!

Within the Proficiency Report, teachers have the flexibility to decide how they view their students' achievement and growth. You can:

* **Search** for specific students
* **Filter** to view only selected students, curriculum tags, subject areas, or student grades
* Hover over the proficiency for any student to view a **detailed summary** of proficiency levels for each post with that curriculum tag
* Click on the proficiency for any student to view a **chronological feed** of the posts with that curriculum tag
* Customize the overall proficiency level displayed to the **Average** of all posts with that tag, or the **Most Recent**

The Proficiency Report aggregates all posts within your class, from across any Spaces you have created. As such, it can only be accessed within the main Feed tab for each class, not from within a Space.

# Downloading the Proficiency Report CSV

Teachers and administrators can also download a **CSV version** of the report with the button at the top right :

* The CSV download will provide either the most recent or average proficiency depending on the option selected in your account before downloading
* Both versions of the CSV include separate columns for students' first and last names, their student numbers ( provincial or state student number, OEN, PEN, etc., if available), and each curriculum tag featured in the report
* The Most Recent download provides the most recently-assigned proficiencies, and the dates that they were applied
* The Average download provides average proficiency levels for each tag, and the # of matching assessments
* The CSV report header provides the tag ID for each curriculum tag featured in the report - for example, the tag '3' •*recognize and select materials appropriate to personal abilities and interests *would show '3' in the CSV
* To see the full tag details, you can consult the report in your account, or the [curriculum tag set](https://spacesedu.crisp.help/en-ca/article/how-do-i-work-with-curriculum-tags-c3xb3r)
* The download includes all students, curriculum tags, and proficiencies, even if you have filtered the report in your account
* You can open the downloaded CSV in Excel, Google Sheets, or another application of your choice to apply filters and change sorting

# Activities, GrowthBook, and Proficiency Reports

If you are using Activities and/or GrowthBook with Curriculum Tags and proficiency levels:

* Proficiency levels that are assigned to submissions within Activities, or to assessments in the GrowthBook, are included in the Proficiency Report, even if they do not have an associated post
* You can view all assessments for a given curriculum tag by hovering over a cell, and the activity or GrowthBook assessments will also be included in the aggregated results (either Most Recent or Average)
* When you click on a cell in the Proficiency Report, this opens a Feed view with any posts related to that assessment - in this view, any assessments not connected to a post will not appear (ie, GrowthBook entries or activity submissionsnot linked with a published post)
* You can also view a similar matrix of proficiency levels for specific activities by selecting the Proficiency tab within the activity
* Once submissions from an activity are published, they will still be included in the overall Proficiency Report for that class, as well as in the feed view when you click on a cell in the report
* Note as well that copies of posts are each counted toward the totals and averages in the report
