# What types of files does SpacesEDU support?

SpacesEDU supports a wide variety of media types to facilitate diverse learning evidence. Users can insert text, URLs, or upload images, videos, audio files, and documents from local storage or cloud services like Google Drive and OneDrive.

###### Before You Start

* Users can upload a maximum of **10 media attachments** per post.
* Messages are limited to **1 media attachment** per message.
* There is no limit on the total number of posts or messages a user can create.
* After uploading, you can reorder attachments using the arrow buttons below each file.

###### File Size and Content Limits

SpacesEDU maintains generous limits to ensure high-quality media can be shared without interruption.

* .gif (Available on web interface only)

**Documents and Files**
* .pdf ([Includes native annotation functionality](https://help.spacesedu.com/en-ca/article/how-can-i-annotate-documents-in-spacesedu-1jj4tt2/))
* .txt, .rtf
* .doc, .docx, .dot
* .xls, .xlsx, .xlt, .xla
* .ppt, .pptx, .pot, .pps, .ppa
* .key, .numbers, .pages (Apple iWork suite)
|| Note: the legacy .doc format is supported for upload in SpacesEDU, however users may encounter errors when previewing .doc files with more complex formatting. If this occurs, you can still download the original file and view it in Word. If possible, we recommend re-saving files as .docx before uploading (the default file format used by current versions of Microsoft Word).

* **PDF Annotation:** You can annotate PDF files directly within the SpacesEDU app to provide targeted feedback or highlight specific student achievements.
* **Cloud Integration:** Files from Google Drive and OneDrive are supported via their respective integrations.
