How do I create a family account?

Learn more about creating your SpacesEDU family account and joining your child's class.

Family Account Invitations

To join a SpacesEDU class, your child's teacher must first send you an invitation to join by email. Once you’ve received the invitation email, follow these simple steps to create your SpacesEDU account:

  1. Open the invitation email and click the blue Join Classroom button

  2. Fill in your first and last name, email address, and create a password
    Alternatively, you can sign up using your Google Account

  3. Click the Sign-up button to complete the process

What if you can't find the invitation email?

If you're unable to find the invitation email, try the following:

Still can’t find the invitation email? Don't worry, you have another option:

  1. Visit www.SpacesEDU.com and click Sign Up

  2. Enter your email address and click Next
    ​    Note: you must use the same email address your child’s teacher used to invite you to join their class

  3. Choose the I'm Family option to proceed

  4. Enter your first and last name, set a password, agree to the terms, and click Sign Up

    1. Alternatively for Gmail users, you can select Sign up with Google instead

  5. Upon signing up, you will receive an email from SpacesEDU to validate your email address. Once validated, you will be redirected to a new login screen.

  6. Use your new SpacesEDU credentials to log in, click on your avatar/initials in the top right corner and select Invitations

  7. Click Accept Invite to add the class to your account

Receiving a message that 'your credentials don't match'?

This is most likely because you are already logged into the SpacesEDU app for iOS or Android with your student's credentials. Ensure that you are logged out of any other SpacesEDU accounts, then try again:

  1. Open the SpacesEDU app on your mobile device

  2. Tap your initials or avatar at the top right of the screen, then Log Out

  3. Open your invitation email and tap the link again

This will allow you to create your family account and link with your student. Note that you will need to log out of your family account and log back in with the student's credentials if you wish to access their account directly.

If possible, we recommend accessing your family account on a different device which is not being used for student account logins.

How do I join additional classes or link with more students?

Once you’ve created your SpacesEDU account, any new class invitations using your same email will appear in the Invitations section of your account.

  • You can link with multiple students and classes using the same family account.

  • To join an additional class or link with more students, simply wait for the teacher to invite you using your SpacesEDU account email and accept the invitation.

  • Linking with a student does not automatically give access to all classes the student is in. Each teacher controls family access and visibility for their own classes.

  • If your student is in multiple classes or has a new teacher next year, you'll need to receive a new invitation for each class, but you can accept them all using the same account.

Congratulations! You now have access to your own SpacesEDU family account.
