Updated behavior for removing imported students from classes
This feature is available to schools and districts licensing SpacesEDU Pro
Right now, if a student is removed from a class, their published posts and applied curriculum tags are synced to their All Work Feed, but their digital footprint in their class is deleted and cannot be restored, even if they are re-added to the class.
With activity submissions, comments, tags, proficiencies, and GrowthBook entries all being key components of a student's learning journey, this update is a safeguard - we know mistakes happen, so we're making a change to help with that.
Now, when a student is removed from a class by accident through an import, they won’t disappear completely. Instead, they’ll remain visible in Spaces, Activities, and Groups, but their name will have “(Removed)” beside it. This allows administrators the ability to re-import the student and their content.
Updates to our mobile apps! (iOS and Android)
This feature is available to all students and teachers.
We’re rolling out several quality of life improvements to our mobile apps for both iOS and Android:
The “Sign in with Apple” button has been moved to the first screen of the login flow, making it quicker and easier to sign in with your Apple account.
Session expiration has been updated to 60 days for all account types, so you can stay logged in without interruptions.
A new welcome screen has been added to the login and sign-up flow to provide a more polished, user-friendly experience.
Additional Updates
The “Class Link” option has been removed from the “Invite Students” flow in the People section of the classroom. We’re currently reviewing this feature and will share an update when it becomes available again.
