As the first blossoms of spring begin to appear and the days grow longer, March brings a season of renewal and growth. In this spirit, SpacesEDU is thrilled to unveil a suite of updates that are as refreshing as the spring air.

These enhancements are designed to invigorate your teaching and learning experience, ensuring that as the world around us blooms, so too does the potential within your classrooms.

Explore the exciting new updates below and “spring” into a season of rich educational experiences!

Ability to update the order of uploaded media in Posts and Activities

When creating content in SpacesEDU, we recognize the challenges around crafting a specific narrative with your media attachments when you can’t easily update the order of those media attachments. We’re excited to share an update to help you easily change that!

Within posts and activities, both students and educators will be able to re-order their media attachments within the media carousel.

Please note that you will need to upload media first before you can move your attachments. The upload dialog does not accommodate reordering.

This update is available to all SpacesEDU users regardless of licensing. Give it a try today!

Ability to filter Proficiency Reports by subject area and grade

We understand that the Proficiency Report is incredibly valuable for quick insight but there is also a wealth of data to explore. We’re providing additional tools to help teachers better digest this content. Teachers will now be able to filter the Proficiency Report by ‘Subject’ and ‘Grade’ making the report even easier to navigate. The Subject and Grade filters are based on the subjects and grades associated with corresponding Tag Sets.

Ability to download a CSV of the Proficiency Report

Educators can now download a CSV of the Proficiency Report data. A sample of the CSV can be seen below. To download this CSV, educators must click the ‘Download’ button on the top right of the Proficiency Report.

This gives teachers the opportunity to modify assessment data and share curricular and proficiency details as they wish. There are two exportable reports: Proficiency Report - Most Recent and Proficiency Report - Average.

  • The Most Recent download will contain student names (last and first names are in separate columns), student numbers (OEN/PEN, etc.), the Curriculum Tags used, the most recent assigned proficiencies, and the dates that the most recent proficiencies were applied.

  • The Average download will contain student names (last and first names are in separate columns), student numbers (OEN/PEN, etc.), Curriculum Tags used, average proficiencies, and the # of matching assessments.

This feature is only available to schools and districts licensing the SpacesEDU Pro + Reporting Add-On.

Ability to select which Teachers, Reporting Space AOLs, and Summary Statements are displayed within the generated PDF

Teachers will now be able to further customize their Reporting Space PDFs by choosing which Areas of Learning, Summary Statements, and co-teachers are displayed. This ensures teachers can tailor the PDF to relevant content for themselves, students, and families.

This feature is only available to schools and districts licensing the SpacesEDU Pro + Reporting Add-On.

Additional Updates & Enhancements

We also made a handful of additional performance and quality of life improvements in SpacesEDU.

  • When teachers are creating a new class, and selecting from their list of available schools, that list will now be rendered alphabetically. (SpacesEDU Pro)

  • To support a more distraction-free environment when reviewing content in the feed, students and teachers will now be able to collapse the student list. (SpacesEDU Free)

  • Within the Android and iOS apps, families can now click Curriculum Tags within posts to reveal more content around the specific tags selected. (SpacesEDU Free)

  • We’ve included a confirmation dialog when educators are looking to reset student QR codes. (SpacesEDU Pro)

  • The Curriculum Tag dialog is now larger, providing you with more space to select from and review existing Curriculum Tags. (SpacesEDU Free)

  • Within the All Work Feed, students will now be able to remove dates from the date filter. (SpacesEDU Pro)

  • We’ve made select revisions to the administrator account to clarify roles and permissions. (SpacesEDU Pro)

  • We’ve taken a step back to assess a lot of content within the platform - Look out for quite a few language changes for clarity around the platform. (SpacesEDU Free)
