GrowthBook Updates
This feature is available to schools and districts licensing SpacesEDU Pro + Assessment Add-on.
We’ve made a number of exciting updates within the GrowthBook to make usage of our proficiency-based gradebook even easier and more efficient.
Support for keyboard shortcuts
You’ll be able to easily move around the GrowthBook by using your keyboard. On top of that, you can also rapidly apply proficiencies with established shortcuts making you even more efficient.
Ability to provide Overall Proficiency as an assessment
Looking to provide an overall proficiency for your GrowthBook’s entries? This new column will be attached to each GrowthBook entry, allowing teachers to manually apply an overall proficiency to an entry, in addition to proficiencies applied to individual tags.
'Insufficient Evidence' as a proficiency option
Within Posts, Activity submissions, or GrowthBook entries, educators will now have the option to indicate 'Insufficient Evidence' (IE). Once the Post, Activity, or GrowthBook Entry is ready to accept an alternative assessment, teachers can swap to a different proficiency.
This proficiency option allows teachers to exclude posts with insufficient evidence from Proficiency Report calculations, ensuring they don't affect average or most recent proficiency levels.
The 'Insufficient Evidence' language can be customized for your district's needs.
Ability to bulk apply proficiencies with the new ‘Bulk Apply’ – Coming in November
As seen in some of the GIFs above, the new 'Bulk Apply' feature is coming soon in November! This update will allow you to quickly and efficiently apply proficiencies across multiple entries within the GrowthBook, streamlining your workflow and saving time.
Attendance in the Reporting Space
This feature is available to schools and districts licensing SpacesEDU Pro + Reporting Add-on.
To support the reporting requirements from districts for year-end reporting, attendance will be made available within the Reporting Space. Attendance files can be uploaded by our support team (whether that’s scheduled or manually added) or by administrators within their SpacesEDU account.

Proficiency Report will also include GrowthBook entries and Activity submissions
This feature is available to schools and districts licensing SpacesEDU Pro + Assessments Add-on.
Previously, the Proficiency Report didn’t give you the complete picture – GrowthBook entries and Activity submissions that haven’t been posted to their respective Spaces weren’t visible within the Proficiency Report.
That changes today! Now, every Activity, Post, and GrowthBook entry assigned a proficiency will be included within the Proficiency Report, giving you comprehensive and complete visibility of assessment within your class.
Note - Since GrowthBook entries and Activity submissions (before they are posted) do not have an associated post, they will not be visible within the feed of posts displayed when clicking a cell within the Proficiency Report. They will however still be tallied in the assessments assigned!
Admins can see which Reporting Spaces are visible to students and family in the class management table
This feature is available to schools and districts licensing SpacesEDU Pro + Reporting Add-on.
Admins will gain a new column within their ‘Classes’ table to indicate the visibility of each class' Reporting Space. At a quick glance, you’ll be able to easily discern whether families or students are able to view the class’ Reporting Space. Simply hover over the icons to get more information around visibility.
Additional Updates & Enhancements
We also made a handful of additional performance and quality-of-life improvements in SpacesEDU.
Within Portfolios, educators will be able to filter the Portfolio table by class and grade. You’ll find this filter option available next to the search field on the top left. (SpacesEDU Pro + Portfolios Add-On)
If your teacher and student account both have access to the same Portfolio, when you switch between those accounts, your place in the portfolio will be preserved to save you time. (SpacesEDU Pro + Portfolios Add-On)
When admins are removing the only teacher within a class, we will prompt an updated warning dialog to inform them that they are leaving the class with no teacher, which would restrict student and family access until a teacher is included again. (SpacesEDU Pro)
For French-speaking educators, the "Moyenne" tab will be updated to "Tendance" within the Proficiency Report. (SpacesEDU Pro + Assessment Add-On)
We’re making the “Manage Tag Sets” button at the bottom of the right side panel within the Spaces tab easier for users to see. (SpacesEDU Free)
Within the Reporting Space, we’re including a toggle to expand all summary section comments. (SpacesEDU Pro + Reporting Add-On)
Portfolio posts will now include tags to identify which section they belong to. (SpacesEDU Pro + Portfolios Add-On)
We’ve made columns that are sortable within tables in the admin account much more obvious. (SpacesEDU Pro)
To help admins better understand the differences between Active and Invited accounts within the ‘Review Teacher Requests’ table, we’ve included a ‘Learn More’ button to provide further clarification. (SpacesEDU Pro)
We’ve improved copy throughout the platform to make interactions clearer.
