How do I enable camera permissions?

To utilize the full range of features in SpacesEDU, users must grant the application access to their device's camera and microphone. This article provides structured, step-by-step instructions for enabling these permissions across various browsers and mobile platforms.

Before You Start

• The first time you access the camera in SpacesEDU, a system prompt will appear.
• Select Allow to grant immediate access.
• If you previously selected "Block," or are encountering issues capturing media, you must manually update your settings using the instructions below.

If you have accidentally selected 'block,' or you are encountering issues with capturing photos or videos, follow the instructions for your device/browser below to update permissions.

Updating Permissions by Browser

Google Chrome (Windows / macOS)

1. Log in to your SpacesEDU account.
2. Click the lock icon located on the left side of the address bar.
3. Select Site settings.
4. Locate Camera and Microphone in the list and set both to Allow.
5. Return to the SpacesEDU tab and Reload the page.

Safari (macOS)

1. Log in to your SpacesEDU account.
2. Click Safari in the top menu bar.
3. Select Settings for this Website....
4. Set Camera and Microphone to Allow.
5. Reload the page.

Safari (iPhone / iPad)

1. Log in to your SpacesEDU account.
2. Tap the aA button in the address bar.
3. Select Website Settings.
4. Set Camera and Microphone to Allow.
5. Tap Done and Reload the page.

Microsoft Edge (Windows)

1. Log in to your SpacesEDU account.
2. Click the lock icon on the left side of the address bar.
3. Under Permissions for this site, set Camera and Microphone to Allow.
4. • Note: If these options are not visible, attempt to capture a photo or video within the app to trigger the prompt.

Updating Permissions by Mobile App

SpacesEDU App (Android)

1. Open the Settings app on your device.
2. Select Apps.
3. Locate and select SpacesEDU from the application list.
4. Select Permissions.
5. Ensure Camera and Microphone are set to Allow only while using the app.
6. Reopen the SpacesEDU app.

SpacesEDU App (iOS)

1. Open the Settings app on your device.
2. Scroll down to the app list and select SpacesEDU.
3. Toggle Microphone and Camera to the On position under "Allow SpacesEDU to access."
4. Reopen the SpacesEDU app.
