How can I add posts or activities for all of my students?
When creating content as a teacher, you can choose to share posts or activities with your entire roster or specific individuals. SpacesEDU also provides the flexibility to include students who join your class in the future, ensuring your introductory materials and ongoing resources are always accessible.
Before You Start
- Space Compatibility: These options are available for 1:1 and Class Spaces. Activities can only be added to 1:1 or Class Spaces.
- Default Behavior: The "Include all future students" option is disabled by default for all new posts and activities.
- Group Spaces: Group Spaces are disabled by default for all new classes. Teachers must activate them in Class Settings to use them. New students must be manually assigned to a group before they can view that group's content.
Managing Future Student Access
The "Include all future students" toggle determines the long-term visibility of your content as your roster changes throughout the year.

Setting | Visibility | Example Use Case |
|---|---|---|
Disabled (Default) | Only visible to students currently enrolled in the class at the time of posting. | Photos from a specific class trip or a project relevant only to current members. |
Enabled | Automatically visible to any student added to the class at a later date. | Welcome posts, introductory activities, or year-long resources. |
Student Visibility and Privacy
Selecting the "All Students" option impacts how students interact with posts and comments, sometimes overriding your general Space Settings.
- Class Space Visibility: Posts shared with "All Students" in a Class Space are visible to everyone, even if the "view each other's posts" setting is disabled.
- Comment Visibility: Student comments on these class-wide posts are visible to all peers, even if the "view each other's comments" setting is disabled.
- Individual Posts: Posts created for individual students in a Class Space follow your standard Space Settings for peer visibility.
- 1:1 Spaces: When you select multiple students for a post in a 1:1 Space, SpacesEDU creates a separate, private post for each student. Comments remain private between the teacher and the individual student.
Good to Know
- Pre-Invitation Content: You can create content for all students before they have accepted their invitations or even before you have sent them.
- Manual Group Assignment: If a new student joins your class, they will not automatically see posts in Group Spaces until you manually assign them to a group.
- Teacher Simplification: The default 1:1 Space creation flow is designed to reduce setup steps for new teachers.
