How do students create their accounts?

This article explains how students can sign up for a SpacesEDU account and join classes manually.

Before You Start

  • Students rostered into classes with SpacesEDU Pro don't need to sign up manually. Their classes appear automatically when they first log in.
  • Manual sign-up requires an email address. Student accounts without email can only be created through rostering.
  • Email validation is not required, so students can use a school-provided or fictitious email if necessary.

Creating Your Account

  1. Go to the sign-up page for your region:
    • πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ Canada / International: Sign Up
    • πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ United States: Sign Up
  2. Enter your email address
  3. If prompted with a Single Sign-On (SSO) page, log in with your school username and password
  4. If you see "Select your account type," click I'm a Student
  5. Choose your sign-up method:
    • Google or Clever: Click the matching button at the top of the page
    • Email: Enter your name, search for your school, set a password, and accept the Terms of Use
  6. Click Sign Up

Joining a Class

To use SpacesEDU, you need to join at least one class.

  1. Log in to your account
  2. Check if you're already in a class (look for the class name in the top left of your screen)
  3. If you need to join a new class, click the Home button to return to the main page
  4. Click Add Class (bottom right)
  5. Enter the Class Code provided by your teacher

πŸ’‘ Tip: You can switch between SpacesEDU and myBlueprint by clicking the logo in the top left corner. Joining a myBlueprint class uses the same process: click Classes on the Dashboard or switch to SpacesEDU and click Add Class.

Good to Know

  • If you're already in a class when you log in, you were likely rostered by your school or teacher.
  • You can be in multiple classes at the same time.
  • If you don't have a Class Code, ask your teacher for one.
  • Using myBlueprint doesn't require you to join a class, but joining one gives you access to SpacesEDU features.
