How do I create an account?

This article explains how to create a SpacesEDU account for teachers, students, and family members.


Before You Start


  • If your school uses Single Sign-On (SSO), you will be guided to your school's login page automatically after entering your email. No separate sign-up form is needed.
  • If your school uses SpacesEDU Pro with rostering, your account and classes may already be set up. Try logging in before creating a new account.
  • Students with a QR code from their teacher do not need to sign up at all. Click Log in With QR Code on the sign-up page and scan your code.


Step 1: Visit the Sign-Up Page


Go to the sign-up page for your region:

Confirm your region is correct in the top right corner of the screen.

Step 2: Enter Your Email


Enter your email address. What happens next depends on whether your school uses SSO.


If your school uses SSO:

  1. You will be redirected to your school's login portal
  2. Log in with your school username and password (the same credentials you use for your school computer or email)
  3. If prompted, confirm your role (Student or Teacher) and select your school
  4. Your account will be created automatically


💡 Tip: On shared devices, fully log out or clear browser cookies at the end of your session to prevent the next user from accessing your account.


If your school does not use SSO:
Continue to Step 3 below.


Step 3: Select Your Role


After entering your email, select your account type:

I'm a Student

Enter a Class Code provided by your teacher (or use a class URL if provided)

I'm a Teacher

Continue to the teacher sign-up form

I'm Family

Continue to the family sign-up form


Select your account type


Step 4: Complete Sign-Up


Choose one of two sign-up methods:


Option A: Sign up with Google


  1. Click Sign Up with Google
  2. Agree to the Terms of Use
  3. Select your Google account (or click Use Another Account to choose a different one)


Option B: Sign up with email and password


  1. Enter your first and last name
  2. Create a password
  3. Check the box to agree to the Terms of Use
  4. Click Sign Up


Additional Steps by Role


Teachers:


After completing sign-up, you will be prompted to confirm your school:

  1. Browse the list of nearby schools (based on your location) or search by name
  2. Click Join School


If your school doesn't appear, double-check the spelling and try again. If you still can't find it, click Can't find your school? at the bottom of the screen.


💡 Tip: If your school uses SpacesEDU Pro, your account may require approval from a school or district administrator before you can access classes.


Family members:


After creating your account, you need an invitation from a teacher to connect with a student. You can:

  • Sign up using the link in the email invitation from your student's teacher
  • Or create your account first, then accept an invitation by clicking your initials or avatar in the top right corner


Good to Know


  • Students with a QR code can skip sign-up entirely. Just scan the code.
  • Teachers with SSO accounts may also need administrator approval if their school uses SpacesEDU Pro.
  • If classes have been imported for your school, you may see classes pre-populated when you first log in.
