How do I invite students to join my class?
This article explains how teachers can invite students to join a class in SpacesEDU using a Class Code or Google Classroom.
Before You Start
- If your school uses SpacesEDU Pro with Class Rostering, your students are added automatically. You don't need to invite them manually.
- If you already see a class with students in your account, you're all set.
- If you don't see the Invite Students option, your class list is managed by automatic data imports. Learn more about rostering
- If you see the Invite Students option on a rostered class, you can still add new students manually.
- Don't have a class yet? Create one first
Option 1: Invite with a Class Code
- Open your class
- Click People
- Click Invite Students
- Click the Copy button to copy your Class Code
Share the code with students however works best:
- Post it in your physical or virtual classroom
- Include it in a parent newsletter
- Share it on your class LMS or website
Students then follow the steps in How do students create their accounts? to sign up and enter the code.

Option 2: Invite via Google Classroom
If your class already exists in Google Classroom, you can invite students directly:

- Open your class
- Click People
- Click Invite Students
- Click Google Classroom at the top of the page
- Click Invite via Google Classroom
- Authorize the connection to your Google account (if prompted)
- Select your Google Classroom and choose whether to invite all or selected students
- Click Next
Invited students will receive an email with a link to create an account or log in and join your class.
Resetting Your Class Code
If your code has been shared unintentionally or you want to restrict access:
- Go to People > Invite Students
- Click Reset Code?
This generates a new code and invalidates the old one. Students who have already joined are not affected.
Don’t forget! Make sure you share the account setup instructions with your students, which can be found in our article, 'How do students create their accounts?'
