How do I invite students to join my class?
Before you begin inviting students as a teacher, there are a few things to keep in mind:
- If your school uses SpacesEDU Pro with Class Rostering, you typically do not need to invite your students manually.
- If you see a class pre-populated in your account with all of your students, you're all set to get started!
- Depending on the rostering option used by your school, you may or may not have the option to invite students manually.
- If you don't see the Invite Students option described below, this means your class list should be updated automatically by regular data imports. To learn more, click here.
- If you do see the option to invite students, this means your class was initially created by an import, but you can still add new students manually.
- If you don't have a class in your account yet, you'll need to create one first!

Google Classroom
Class already created in Google Classroom? SpacesEDU allows you to connect to your Google account and directly invite all of your students via Classroom.
- Open the class
- Click People
- Click Invite Students
- Click Google Classroom at the top of the page
- Click Invite via Google Classroom
- Authorize the connection to your Google account, if prompted
- Select the Google Classroom you'd like to invite, and whether to invite all or selected students, then click Next
- Your invited students will receive an email with a link to create an account or log in and join your class
To ensure that only your students can connect with your class, you can use the Reset Code? option if needed to invalidate the old code, and generate a new one. Note: this will not affect any students that have already joined your class.
Don’t forget! Make sure you share the account setup instructions with your students, which can be found in our article, 'How do students create their accounts?'
