Note: when students are removed from a class, they will still have access to the class code or class link. To avoid removed users rejoining a class, you may wish to reset your class code and class link.

To reset your class code or link:

  1. Select the People tab
  2. Click + Invite Students
  3. For Class Link select Reset Link
  4. For Class Code select Reset Code

Resetting the class code or link will not affect students presently in your class. This is not required (or available as an option) for classes managed using SIS Sync.

To remove users from a Group or 1:1 Space within a class:

  1. Click the home button
  2. Select your class
  3. Click Spaces
  4. Select the space you want to remove users from
  5. Click the 3 grey dots
  6. Select Edit Groups (Group Space) or Edit Students (1:1 Space)
  7. Make your edits
  8. Click Save

What happens to students that have been removed? Can they still access their work?

  • With the free version of SpacesEDU, once students have been removed from a class, they will no longer have access to any posts or other content from the class.
  • For students taking classes at a SpacesEDU Pro licensed school, when removed from a class they can still access their own posts, and most existing teacher posts, in the All Work Feed.
  • Removed students will no longer have access to comments within the class, or any new posts or other content added in the class after their removal.
  • To find out more about what students can access using this option, check out this article.
